Guild wars 2 information has been revealed recently, and the developers wont shut up about their events system which replaces questing completely. But what about the max level, what are players going to do then?When you reach the highest level are many events with which you may participate in that are designed to be challenging in comparison to the regular events.Max-level players can even decide to go back to the low level events in guild wars 2 and they will scale to continue to provide a challenge.A version of content that top level players may particpate is known as player vs player combat (or pvp for short).Theres 2 different versions of player vs player in Guild Wars 2, Guild against guild and world against world (gvg and wvw).
Guild against guild provides a smaller scale player against player combat system in which 5 players may attempt to complete objectives against the opposing guild. although smaller this is more competitive and may provide ranking in order to compare your skill against others.
We think of GW2 as the first MMO that actually has a cooperative PvE experience. When I’m out hunting and suddenly there’s a huge explosion over the next hill – the ground is shaking and smoke is pouring into the sky – I’m going to want to investigate, and most other players in the area will too. Or if the sky darkens on a sunny day, and I look up and see a dragon circling overhead preparing to attack, I know I’d better fight or flee, and everyone around me knows that too.
With traditional MMOs you can choose to solo or you can find a good guild or party to play with. With GW2 there’s a third option too: you can just naturally play with all the people around you. I personally spend a big chunk of my time in traditional MMOs soloing, but when I play GW2 I always find myself naturally working with everyone around me to accomplish world objectives, and before long we find ourselves saying, “Hey, there’s a bunch of us here; let’s see if we can take down the swamp boss together,” without ever having bothered to form a party.
And at the same time, it brings all the best elements from role-playing solo, as the story branching a personal and online world for the first time. We believe that Guild Wars 2 will not only attract players who play MMOs already, but also a group of new players who are not especially attracted to the massively multiplayer usual. We believe that Gold Guild Wars 2 will simply impose a new standard in the industry. So we certainly hope that many people will want to play. Of course we know that everyone thinks "That sounds good but I would wait to see it to believe it" and that is why we invite all interested players to come try the game on our playable demo gamescom Cologne [held in Germany from August 18 to 22 next note].
